Goodridge Parish hosts Pathways Day Camp

The Goodridge Lutheran Parish hosted a busy and fun few days last week! They put on a Pathways Day Camp for all area kids to attend. Ages participating in the exciting and faith-exploring event were Preschool-6th grade; 90 kids were registered for the camp!

The camp was held August 1-4 and ran from 9am-3pm each day. All three Lutheran churches helped out with the camp, but it was held at Faith Lutheran Church. The theme of the Pathways Camp was “The Jesus Way.” Groups of kids enjoyed theme days, which included learning more about feeding, forgiving, loving thy neighbor and serving humbly. Camp opened each morning with worship and followed with bible party games, snacks, arts & crafts, games, sing-alongs and the day ended with closing worship services. Numerous congregational volunteers donated their time and service to help out with the event for area youngsters.

Pathways also provided a team of five youth counselors who are trained to lead Bible studies, worship, singing, crafts and recreation. All five of the youth counselors stayed at the home of Jason and Sarah Kotrba, who live in rural Goodridge.

Many area sponsors made this event possible and include Jason & Sarah Kotrba, Thrivent, Goodridge Area Development, Goodridge Lions, Goodridge Lion Tamers, Vance & Lori Wiseth, Faith WELCA, Ekelund WELCA, HIghlanding 4-H, Northern Ag Incorperated, Pennington/Red Lake Dairy Association, Goodridge Municipal Store, everyone that gave generously towards the freewill breakfasts, and all the volunteers that provided their time, talents and counselor meals.
