Good Ol’Fashioned Spaghetti Feed Enjoyed by Many
This past Wednesday the Bagley Senior Center opened its doors from 5-7pm, and welcomed the community in to enjoy a good old fashioned hometown, homemade, spaghetti dinner with all the trimmings.
The Bagley Senior Center is committed to continuing its supportive and inclusive role as a vital member of our community. An evening event, such as the dinner, provided an opportunity for everyone to see what is on offer. The sign may say “senior center”, yet that’s only a name.
The Bagley Senior Center is for everyone! It’s a part of something special, a community within a community. The center is a place to participate, attend, visit, support, eat or maybe just sit back and relax.
On this particular night it was a space for great food, lots of laughter, amazing fellowship with friends old and new alike. Over 70 guests attended the dinner. It was just before 7pm when the meat sauce ran out. Along with the spaghetti and meat sauce, guests enjoyed coleslaw, garlic toast and vanilla ice cream with their choice of toppings.
The Bagley Senior Center is open Monday through Friday 10-2pm. It offers many opportunities and activities for guests of pretty much ALL ages to enjoy.
The Craft Store offers a place to shop for unique handmade gifts created by local area residents. The Craft Store also has a designated room for one of a kind “vintage” items. There are so many items to look at, a second or third visit may be necessary.
In the Thrift Store one can find gently used household items such as dishes, cooking utensils, knick knacks, clothes, puzzles, children’s items, purses, shoes and a whole lot more.
And if that’s not enough cards are played on-site. Whist is played every Tuesday at 1:pm. Experience not necessary-willing players love to teach new players. On Thursday Hand & Foot is played at 2pm. Again, no experience necessary. New players are welcomed. There are puzzles, magazines, decks of cards, and multiple binders holding the beautiful history of the center that is over 50 years old. Guests are welcome to peruse through these historic pages for a walk through time!
There are meals served daily at 11:30am for dine-in or pick up. In addition to the entree/vegetable/dessert; milk, bread & margarine are included. To order a meal it’s important to call ahead, before 10am. 218-694-6873.
Meals on Wheels are also available. For information on the MOW program or questions regarding the nutrition program call the center between 10-1pm.
Meals are made on site by a very experienced cook and are delicious! Meals for those 60+ there is a suggested $6 donation. $10 for those under 60.
And, of course, if that’s not enough, the Bagley Senior Center is available to rent. Rental information can be obtained by calling the center at the number listed above.

Yes!!! As part of the “250th Celebration” of our countries birthday, on Friday July 3 - starting at 8:00am CARAMEL ROLLS will roll out of the oven! The rolls will be served until gone, fresh piping warm right out of the oven. So grab a friend if you have one and come on into the center to enjoy a roll or two with a hot cup of coffee. It’s a great way to start ones day visiting with friends, and enjoying warm deliciousness. Rolls can be ordered for pick up.
Call the center by 12noon Thursday July 2 to guarantee the Friday AM pickup. This is especially important for orders of any quantity greater than one or two or a later am pickup.
