Final NELL for Spring 2026 a Mount Rushmore:Carving An Icon

Northern Exposure to Lifelong Learning will end the Spring 2026 season with David Jones “Mt. Rushmore: Carving of an Icon” on Wednesday May 20, at 9:30am - 11:00am (w/questions).  Location: Bagley American Legion. 

Today, more than two million people each year visit Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The project took fourteen years, four hundred workers, 450,000 tons of rock, nearly one million dollars in 1941, approximately $15-$18 million in today dollars …those are the statistics behind the carving of Mount Rushmore. The story is even more interesting. 

Please join us for a history lesson on one of America’s most famous parks, presented by David Jones-Historical Presentations.

There is no charge to attend the program.  Light morning refreshments will be served.(freewill)

Whether you have been to one of David many presentations or not, this is your last chance.  Mr. Jones is retiring. NELL has been fortunate to have had him for nearly all of his programs. His programs have been very informative and intriguing.
