Festival of Tables Deemed A Success!

Saturday, October 26th found the Brooks Community Hall humming with almost 100 women who were anticipating the 4th annual Festival of Tables, the Red Lake County, American Cancer Society Fundraiser.  Women from around the area gathered to dine on delicious food, enjoy a silent auction of donated gifts from generous contributors, and relax to the entertainment of Sydney Melby, vocalist.  In addition, cancer facts were shared with the ladies to encourage proactive health care for everyone.

The hosts for this popular event are women from throughout Red Lake County who volunteer to host a table, and this year there were 9 tables each with a different theme.  The hosts for 2019 included co-hosts Deb DuChamp, Plummer and Marci Kloety Thief River Falls, co-hosts  Carol Chaput, Brooks and Leona Bugge, Thief River Falls, and co-hosts Dianne Gagner and Karen Delage from Brooks.  In addition, hosts from Oklee were Barb Melby, Phyllis Melby, co-hosts Deb Vettleson and Talia Mitzner, co-hosts Tracy Hamm and Kim Olson, Ginny Stoneouse, and co-hosts Rhonda Vettleson and Miranda Vettleson.  Tables are decorated with the hostesses chosen theme and choice of menu, and the themes this year ranged from elegant and classy to fun and frivolous.  Guests are invited by the host to be a guest at their table, and this has been such an anticipated event that the tables fill quickly.
