Eight advance to Speech Section Tournament

The Rebel Speech Team competed at the MSHSL Subsection 31A Tournament held in Oklee on Saturday, March 28. The team finished in fourth place with East Grand Forks taking first, Roseau second, and Crookston third.
Advancing to the Section Tournament which will be Tuesday, April 7 in Fosston were Ric Ven Auman and Tom Nelson, third in Duo; Sophia Linder and Jenna Pahlen, fourth in Duo; Kjersten Walton, fourth in Exempt Reading; Shelby Gunderson, third in Great Speeches; Jayden Iverson, third in Poetry; and Natalie Aakhus, fourth in Storytelling.
Alternates to Section Tournament were Jayden Fore, fifth in Creative; and Grace Gieseske and Zoe Russillo, sixth in Duo.
Also competing for the Rebels but not placing at the Subsection Tournament were Sydney Melby, Humor; Jade Person, Humor; Lily Guillemette, Prose; Abby Walton, Prose; and Tera Qualley, Prose.
