December 1 is just around the corner and kick-off to the Christmas season, at least at Clear Waters Life Center. December’s Friday Night Out combines the new with the old. In the 90’s an annual event in the Gonvick School gym was the Holiday Showcase – dinner and local talent. The last year and a half, Clear Waters Life Center has offered Friday Night Out dinners the first Friday of every month. The dinners highlight a different culture. It has been a fun learning experience for those involved. As with almost all of CWLC’s programs and businesses, it wouldn’t happen without a team of faithful volunteers.
The International Holiday Showcase will be a dinner-theater-style evening. An assortment of traditional international appetizers and desserts will be served buffet style. The main course with sides will be served at your tables. Unlike other Friday Night Out dinners, everyone will be served during breaks in the entertainment. Plan to arrive by 5:30, so you can be seated by the time the show begins.
Our theater group has been practicing Wednesday afternoons in preparation for the three-part vignette featuring Christmas traditions of Germany, Mexico, and Sweden/Norway. Our actors are fifth grade through adults. The variety show consists of several vocalists and musicians from our area.
We encourage you to make your reservations as soon as possible to help us plan seating and food. Reservations will be taken through Wednesday, November 29. Feel free to leave a voicemail at 218-776-2789, if you call after 4:00 PM.
A live nativity scene will be set-up for your enjoyment on the southeast side of our building. All area residents are invited to come, bring your children, and enjoy the awe of the first Christmas when Jesus was born. If the temperature is below 15 degrees above zero, the nativity scene will be cancelled.
