The Clearbrook City Council met on Monday, December 8 in the council room. The council approved the Regular meeting minutes of November 10 and the special meeting of November 24.
Petitions and concerns were given. Kevin Prosser informed the council that the Handicap door at the Community Center was not working properly. He also mentioned that there are residents who are not in favor of having garbage picked up at each place of residence. The 18 extra dollars would be charged on the bills that are sent out each month from the city.
Police Report from Ryan Solee included 29 records. They were: 911 Hang Up 2; Alarm 1; Civil Complaint 2; Domestic 1; Fraud 1; Juvenile Misc. 1; Medical 2; Motor Vehicle Crash 1; Parking /complaint 1; Predatory Offender Registration 1; Property Damage 1; Stop arm violation 1; Suspicious Activity Extra patrol 1; Theft 2; Traffic Stop 5; Trespass 1; Vehicle Off Road 1; Warrant, Attempt to Arrest 1; Welfare Check 2.
Police Department had received two grants one for $800.00 from the MN Chief of Police Association, that will be used to purchase items to educate youth in the area about the police department. The second grant of $855.00 was used by Chief Solee to attend the MN Chiefs of Police annual conference.
Clearbrook Fire Chief report from Adam Krog. They had 12 calls in November which included Medical 5; Structure Fire 1; Vehicle Accident 1; Alarm 1; Training 1; Meeting 2 and Hazmat 1. Elections were held with Ryan Rude the Chief; Nick Rankin 1st Assistant Chief, Jacob Hagen 2nd Assistant Chief, Beth Barnes Training Officer; Reid Sloan Treasurer, (2nd year of a 2-year term); James Kumpula the Secretary and Aaron Pankratz the SCBA Officer.
The Liquor Store report had a Net Profit for the year at $114,697.00 with one month to go.
Steve Emery from Widseth was not able to make it to the meeting. He had the water tower update which was approved for payment of $33,615.00. All the work has been done, and they have received a Certificate of Substantial Completion, Project Acceptance Certificate and Notice of Acceptability. The two-year warranty will expire 8/21/27.
The water treatment plant had two more issues with Al’s Electric to finish up his work and in the spring the exterior siding and metal fascia of the building has to be completed.
Lucie Thompson the City Clerk had Music on Main Street on the agenda with the petition that people don’t want that done.
They decided not to approve the final Property Tax Levy and will set up another meeting before the end of December.
The council approved Resolution 2025-21 for donations for November 2025. They included: Bonnie Borene donation of $100 to the Fire Department and $50 to Restore Music on Main Street; Enbridge donated $5,000 to the Fire Department; Clearbrook Community Club donated $1,000 for the Community Thanksgiving Meal and $1,500 to the Santa Claus Day.
Monthly claims were approved for $99,716.72 and $138,782.21 additional claims.
