“Wipeout Cancer” was the theme of this year’s Relay for Life of Marshall/Pennington Counties. Sisters, Tausha Severts and Shaunna Olson, hold a special spot for the Relay events as both are cancer survivors. Tausha had Thyroid Cancer while Shaunna had Melanoma. They are pictured at their team’s campsite at the Marshall County Fairgrounds. The event was held in Warren last Friday night.

Grygla’s Relay for Life team, Chix from the Stix, played a huge role in last Friday night’s Relay for Life event at the Marshall County Fairgrounds in Warren. As of right now, Grygla’s Chix have raised over $10,400.00, which will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Due to severe storms in the area last Friday night, the Luminaria Ceremony and live entertainment had to be cancelled, however, the rest of the events still took place and included a community dinner, silent auction, opening ceremony, cancer survivor/caregiver story and reception.

New this year was the merge of Marshall and Pennington counties. The event was open to all and funds raised will go to the American Cancer Society.
