Charger students receive athletic awards

Fall Sports have wrapped up and post-season awards have been given out to the following Charger football and volleyball players: 

Andrew Loken: Offensive Player of the Year; Reece Sundberg: All-District; Nolan Anderson: All-District; Elliot Philipp: All-District Honorable Mention; Jordan Coan: All-District Honorable Mention.

Caitlyn Jacobson: All-Conference in North Border, All-Conference in Northern Lights; Chesney Salo: Honorable Mention in North Border, Honorable Mention in Northern Lights.

Of her players, GG Head Coach Katelyn Larson offered, “Congratulations to both Caitlyn and Chesney. Caitlyn is a leader on the court and is an outstanding athlete who can play any position the team needs. She had a very successful year, and we are proud of her. Chesney has also worked hard all year and has had great success as a first-year varsity setter! Keep up the great work Chesney!”

A combined Fall/Winter sports banquet will be held near the end of the school year for all Charger athletes. However, the Charger football players attended the North District Top of the State 9-Man All Conference Awards Banquet recently. Along with being recognized for their football season achievements, they also listened to guest speaker Kierah Kimbrought, a Greenbush Native, UND-standout, and former Women’s Professional Basketball player speak on her struggles and how to use failure to motivate you to reach your life goals.
