Charger basketball stats from last week

GBB vs. Northern Freeze in Goodridge, Tuesday, January 7th
GG 29, NF 47
GG Stats: Chloe Kuznia- 7 points, Maloni Henrickson- 4 points, Caitlyn Jacobson- 11 points, Maddy Cullen- 2 points, Vivian Coan- 5 points
Coach’s Comments: Northern Freeze is a tough game for us. They have height at almost every position. For the second game in a row our shots haven’t fallen like they were before Christmas. Even though they had the height advantage on us, the rebounds total was pretty close. We have very few practices coming up, but I think that we will be able to fix our mistakes and keep playing tough basketball.
GBB vs. BGMR in Greenbush, Thursday, January 9th
GG 39, BGMR 53
GG Stats: Daria Waletzki- 8 points, Amy Wiskow- 2 points, Chloe Kuznia- 6 points, Maloni Henrickson- 6 points, Caitlyn Jacobson- 9 points, Maddy Cullen- 2 points, Hannah Wilebski- 2 points, Vivian Coan- 4 points, Hailey Knutson- 2 points
Coach’s Comments: BGMR jumped out fast on us. They started out 18-4. The rest of the game it was an even fight. It was another bad night for us rebounding. Rebounding is really holding us back in games right now. When we can get this fixed, we are going to be more successful. With this group of girls, I think it will happen. Other than the beginning, the girls started playing good defense, coming up with stops, and executing our offense. We get to get back on the court  tomorrow night in Grygla, and try to strengthen our weaknesses.
BBB at Roseau on Friday, January 10th
Roseau 83, Chargers 74
GG Stats: Hudson McMillin (11 pts, 8 reb, 4 asst), Jake Olson (3 pts, 5 reb), Riley Manderud (28 pts, 11 reb, 5 asst, 3 steals), Jordan Coan (21 pts, 11 reb, 2 asst), Jordan Horachek (2 reb, 2 asst), Moses Jensen (11 pts, 2 reb, 2 asst)
Coach’s Comments: The Rams are a much improved team since we played them early in December. Their best player has rejoined the team and we had a difficult time containing him. Again, we put ourselves in an early hole and got behind 24-7 quickly. However, we regained composure, kept playing hard and had cut the lead down to 45-37 at halftime. We continued to play well in the second half, and took a 2 point lead with about 5 minutes remaining. Just when we took the lead, the Rams made 3 pointers on 2 consecutive trips down the floor. We kept fighting, but they made free throws in the last minute to put us away. A couple players really stepped up tonight. Riley played out of his mind - he was aggressive, scored, and found teammates for opportunities. Jordan continues to be a tough kid to play against - he consistently outworks his opponents.
