This Saturday, September 7th is the 48th annual Blast To Brooks. And you are invited to attend this fun day.
At 9:00 a.m. there is an opening Prayer Service to start off the event. St. Joseph's Catholic Church has a 100 item raffle that starts at 9:00 a.m. and their Bake Sale starts at 9:30 a.m. I'm sure there are some great bakers in the Brooks area, so get your goodies early because they sell out fast. St. Joe's is also serving a Plate Lunch which starts at 11 a.m. Food Vendors also on Main Street.
One other thing going on in town, but the times aren’t listed is the annual Softball Tournament. That is always a fun event to participate in or cheer on your favorite players.
And don’t forget, there is Food Vendors and a Beer Garden for great food and a cool drink.
The Grand Parade starts at 2:00 p.m. and for a little town, Brooks puts on a pretty good parade with many entries. If you have a float you want in the parade, you can contact Ernie or Dukka at 218-698-4464.
Brooks also has a great Car and Motorcycle Show that opens at 2:00 p.m. with registration from 1 to 3 p.m.
There is an Antique Tractor and Machinery Show starting at 3:00 p.m., which is interesting for young and old. Many stories get told when walking around the Car/Motorcycle and Tractor/Machinery Shows. Keep your ears open, you may learn many interesting facts about the beautiful cars and hard working tractors that our families used in the old days on the family farms of yesteryear. And if you remember those days, a great opportunity to teach the young about the days of their grandparents grew up in.
Kid’s games will start at 3:00 p.m. on Main Street so gather up the family for a fun time.
Everyone loves magic shows and at 4 p.m. there will be a magic show at the Brooks Community Hall. This will be fun for everyone of every age.
At 5:00 p.m. there is the ever popular Ping Pong Drop on Main Street that the kids love as they get many prizes when they turn in their ping pong balls.
Also at 5:00 p.m. is Bingo at the Community Center. Bingo is a fun way to spend time visiting with friends and playing for prizes.
And at 8:00 p.m. there is a evening of fun with DJ Entertainment by Wild Wes.
So bring your family on down to Brooks on September 7th, for a day of fun, food, entertainment for all ages.
