Bemidji Speedway Driver Profile of Brooke Erickson

“Brooke Erickson”

            The Erickson family has been active in stock car racing at Bemidji Speedway for many years.   Dad Doyle and brother Blake both past champions.   Now its younger daughter/sister Brooke Erickson’s turn.  Brooke (19) is the newest member of the Erickson family to showcase her skills on the racetrack.  Brooke currently sits in 2^nd place in points in the highly competitive Wissota Mod Four class.

            “Dad is in his 30^th year racing, my brother Blake is in his 10^th year and I’m in my 4^th year of racing,” Brooke stated.  “The adrenaline you get while racing and the friends I’ve made would never have happened if it wasn’t for racing,” she continued.

            Brooke lists a highlight of winning her first feature in the Mod Fours on August 2^nd of this year and of course when she beat her brother for the first time.

            “I’ve always been afraid of getting hurt in my racecar so on my visor this year I put a Bible verse from Psalms 56:3 which says “When I’m afraid I will put my trust in you” it reminds myself to trust God that He has his hand on me and will protect me every lap around the race track.
