Bears win Fosston tournament
The Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears won the championship tournament game that was held in Fosston. The 23rd annual event was played December 4 th and 5th.
The Bears defeated the Blackduck Drakes 83-60 in the semifinals. Scoring for the Bears were Grant Engen 37 points , Drayden Cobenais-Neadeau added 18 points and Avery Ostenaa 12 points. Scoring for Blackduck was Coltyn Puffe with 25 points, Aiden Bauer 15 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for the Drakes.
The Championship game had the Bears playing against Win-E-Mac Patriots. The final score was 69-55 for the Bears victory at the Fosston Holiday Tournament. Trey Goudge had five 3 pointers and scored 22 points. Drayden Cobenais-Neadeau added 11 points and Grant Engen 10 points for the Bears. Joe Courneya led Win-E-Mac with 20 points, Hayden Johnson added 14 points and Kolten Schow 10 points for Win-E-Mac. Win-E-Mac led 32-25 at halftime and led 45-39 before the Bears went on a wild comeback of a 27-6 run. Turnovers hit both team with 19 for Clearbrook-Gonvick and 20 for Win-E-Mac.
