Band Together with Barb

Barb Geer has been extremely supportive of Middle River, it’s people, children, organizations, churches, school, and anyone & any event in need in the area.

Well, guess what people? It’s time to give a little support back. Not that she would ask, so the ‘Flying V’ Cancer Fighters is putting this together.

Most people in Middle River and the surrounding area have seen Barb at events or around town taking pictures, talking with people, playing piano, on-stage/off stage, teaching, helping & organizing. She has been a teacher, instructor, accompanist, cook, party pooper.....Oops, sorry, a party planner, president, board member, business owner, mother & grandmother.

Barb has worked with kids singing & playing instruments. She has put together music groups like the “HeartThrobs” and “True Colors”. Barb has given voice lessons, piano lessons, flute lessons, guitar lessons, music lessons, and lessons in life. She has helped raise money at benefits, concerts, dinners, suppers, breakfasts, and brunches. She has given her talents and time to people and groups in need of help, support, & encouragement.

Professionally, Barb has spent the past 25 years working in the embroidery industry, where she has developed a catalog of designs.” Grand Slam Designs”. Though she sold the business several years ago she continues to digitize for the company today.

We are setting up an “Appreciation Day” for Barb on Saturday, August 15th at the American Legion in Middle River at 3:30pm. There will be music, food, and auction items.

For those who don’t know, Barb is going through her fight with cancer.

And NOW is our chance to support her, as she has supported many in the past. Everyone is invited to come celebrate and support Barb Geer, and give back to someone who has given so much.
