Stanley Solheim, Pat Del Rosario, Ron & Cindy Stoneouse and Andy & Karen Peterson made a 16 day bus tour to the following areas: Niagara Falls, Ontario; Boston; Acadia National Park in Maine; Cape Cod; New York City; Washington D.C. and Gettysberg.
They saw the Broadway show “Jersey Boys,” ate lobster in Maine, waded in the Atlantic Ocean, visited Ground Zero and Times Square, saw where Sully Sullenberger landed the plane in the Hudson River, cruised around Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.
In Washington D.C. we visited the capitol, the Smithsonian Museums, the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, changing of the guard at Arlington, the war memorials and cruised the Potomac River with dinner and music.
It was quite a trip and the last major stop was at Gettysburg where the Minnesota First Regiment was instrumental in the North’s victory in the Civil War. The trip was organized by Bergan Travel and there were 45 in the group.
