Another Successful Ensemble Contest for Win-E-Mac Musicians!

On Monday, March 7, 2016, 13 Win-E-Mac vocal ensembles and 5 instrumental ensembles participated in the annual Ensemble Contest, which this year was held in Waubun.

The many weeks of practice and hard work really paid off, as 7 vocal and 2 instrumental ensembles received the coveted ** (Superior) rating, while 6 vocal and 3 instrumental ensembles received the * (Excellent) rating.  In addition, our school received an outstanding event of the day!

Receiving a **(Superior) rating for their vocal ensembles were: Jessica Kasprzak & Mikah Olson:  Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone; Men’s Group:  Hallelujah; Josh Young, Tanya Kulikov & Mikayla Vesledahl:  Steal Away; Tanya Kulikov & Mikayla Vesledahl:  How Deep the Father’s Love For Us; Kolton Stuhaug & Kylie Stuhaug:  Love Divine; Madison & Mariah McKeever:  Ave Maria; and the Sr. High Women’s Group:  Only Hope. 

Receiving a ** (Superior) rating for their instrumental ensembles were: Alaina Juve, Bailee Bur-cham & Lily Breckel (Flute Trio) and Katelyn Sanden & Aries Qualey (Bass Clarinet/Tuba Duet).

Receiving a * (Excellent) rating for their vocal ensembles were: Kate Johnson, Bailee Burcham and Aria Qualey:   The Sky is Crying on the Sea; Freshmen Girls:  Let Me In; Josh Young & Mi-kah Olson:  Loch Lomond; 9-11 Grade Women’s Group:  For Good; Kate Johnson & Bailee Bur-cham:  Every Time We Say Goodbye; and Jessica Kasprzak & Sydney Tadman:  Canon of Peace.

Receiving a * (Excellent) rating for their instrumental ensemble were: Alaina Juve & Bailee Bur-cham (Flute Duet), Lily Breckel, Clarissa Neste & Tapanga Bratager (WW Trio) and Bailee Bur-cham & Katelyn Sanden (Flute/Clarinet Duet)

This year, we were honored to have one of our vocal ensembles selected as an Outstanding Event.  Josh Young, Tanya Kulikov, and Mikayla Vesledahl received this honor on their acapella piece:  Steal Away.
