116th Red Lake County Fair With Rodeo June 22, 23, & 24

The Red Lake County Fair is coming to Oklee, June 22-23-24. 
The Red Lake County Fair will kick off fair week with an opening ceremony on Friday, June 22, at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Red Lake County Central School. Starting at 9:00 a.m. the public is welcome to enter their projects in the Open Class entry. The Fair is looking forward to many new exhibitors for the Open Class. This is where you can shine with your project or gardening skills can be entered and win premiums. 
At 1:00 p.m. Senior Citizens are invited to attend the Senior Citizen event at the Oklee Community Hall where an Outstanding Senior Citizen Award will be given out. Play BINGO to win prizes. At 5:00 p.m. is a 4-H horse show. 
The Friday night Wojo Rodeo starts at 6:30 p.m. out at the South Park. It is the 2nd year that the Fair Board has hosted the rodeo. The rodeo events start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23. This rodeo has been dubbed “the best little rodeo around” and provides up close and personal views of rodeo livestock and dangerous bulls from the Wojo Rodeo Company. There are bucking broncos, trick riders, rodeo clowns, barrel racers, steer wrestlers, calf ropers, and bull riders to keep you entertained throughout the show. Many of these riders are competing for monetary prizes, and some local riders are trying to vie for prize money for their very first time. There are nine full events for both evenings, and there will be a rodeo activity for the little buckaroos during intermission both evenings. 
After the Rodeo, come on down to the Dance at the Barn. 
On Saturday, June 23 at 8:15 a.m. 5K registration begins on the South side of the RLCC High School with the run starting at 9:00 a.m. 
Booths open at 9:00 a.m. and at 10:00 a.m. there will be a program for Soybean Producers: Come learn about managing Minnesota’s #1 yield-limiting soybean pathogen at the hall.
From 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon, a Make and Take It will be at the Fair. Come check out the great things to make and take.
From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. there will be demonstrations at the hall. Louise Cullen will be doing Polk County Barn Quilts, Hickory Backroads will be showing how to make succulent boxes and there will be a cost of $20 and a maximum of 30 people. Pat Asselin will be doing Pop Bottle Art, Steven Kerner will have Model Train Demonstrations, Shirley Dessellier will have Coaster Making from 11- 1:30 with a cost of $0.50. Aliza Olson will be doing a demonstration on Spinning Mixed Wool, Jessie and Natalie will be doing Card Making with cards for sale as well. Shirley Dessellier will also be doing Crock Pot Cooking from 2-3 and Shirley Strand will be demonstrating Embroidered Towels, Crochet Hand Towels and Taggy Blankets with several varieties for sale.
At 11:00 to 5:30 there will be a Music Fest at the Fair with music from Karleen Wilde, Sydney Melby, Eric Mickelson, The Jensen Sisters, and Dariann Leigh.
A Bounce House will be set up and open at 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. 
At 1:00 p.m. it the Kids Baja. Bring your child and their power wheels vehicle and let them have their fun at a Pint-Sized Baja. At 2:00 p.m. will be a Kids Demolition where they have to pop the other kids ballons.
From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. there will be an Escape Room at the school. Can you figure out all the clues to get out on time?
At 3:00 p.m. there will be a Redneck Challenge.
At 6:00 p.m. there will be another night of Wojo’s Rodeo at the South Park outside of Oklee.
On Sunday, June 24 at 9:00 a.m. the booths will open and at 10:00 a.m. there will be Bingo at the Hall. At 2:00 p.m. there will be Baja Races held at the South Park as well as 4H Awards and Share the Fun at the Hall.
3:00 p.m. The Exhibits will be released.
