…and the June Winners are!

The Tuesday Whist Gang enjoyed 5 Tuesdays of play in June!  Except for a couple lucky players, new winners emerged each week!  The Tuesday Whist Gang is a very fun group of even funnier people that meet weekly at the Bagley Senior Center.  Each week players donate $1.50.  The center receives $1 and .50 goes into a kitty. Light refreshments are served. 

The day starts at 1:00pm with Head Whist Master Bob Garner holding a fistful of paper slips, one for each player.  Each slip of paper has a table and a partner number. The number of slips of paper and tables needed is determined by how many people show up.  

Everyone who comes to play gets a seat at a table.

This “random” draw for partner makes the day more enjoyable, especially for less experienced players.  It creates possibility for different players to win. Players may start with one partner, and they may or may not partner up again for the rest of the day.   There are six rounds of four hands each.

After the six rounds of play concludes, the top two players split the Kitty.  Much excitement goes towards winning of what could be a top prize of for example $4 each “if” there are 16 players show up; $16 goes to the senior center and $8 in the kitty.  If an odd number of players, widow whist (3-handed) is played at the lowest table.
