Voting on bond issue coming up November 7

Meetings are being held to inform the public about the bond issue that Clearbrook-Gonvick School board has set for the November 7, 2023, Voters will be asked to approve the amount not to exceed $28,370,000 for the school district.
The first meeting was held in Clearbrook and future meetings will be held October 3rd at the Gonvick Community Center and October 17th at the Leonard Township Building.
At the meeting in Clearbrook last week top priorities identified by the Community-led Task Force:
Health, Safety and Security
Remodel main entrance to address safety and security.
Addition of several single-user toilets for students and staff.
Addition of secure changing rooms for officials and coaching staff.
Designated changing areas for visiting teams.
Expand cafeteria to move lunch tables out of the hallway corridor.
Addition of a second cross corridor to reduce congestion during passing time.
The voting question
Shall the school board of Independent School District No. 2311 (Clearbrook-Gonvick Public School) be authorized to issue its general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $28,370,000 to provide funds for the acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities, including the construction and equipping of a new 2-station gymnasium with storage; remodeling and upgrades to convert the existing small gymnasium and fitness room into a multipurpose room, new fitness room, team room and visiting team locker room; the renovation and remodeling of media center classrooms and small group spaces; the construction and equipping of additional special education classrooms; the remodeling of early childhood special education spaces; the installation of a new roof and exterior doors; the construction of a secure entry to the office area; renovations, remodeling and upgrades to restrooms at the school site and facility; and the acquisition of furniture, fixtures and equipment?
BY VOTING “YES” ON THIS BALLOT QUESTION, YOU ARE VOTING FOR A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.
All voting for the school district will be done at a combined polling place at the City of Clearbrook, City Hall at 200 Elm Street in Clearbrook.
