Ulrich taking over duties at the Gonvick Post Office

Jackie Ulrich took over the duties as Postmaster at the Gonvick Office the last week in December. She has been working for the Postal Service for 23 1/2 years. Her first position was as a carrier substitute in Bemidji. She did that for six months before a clerk position in Bagley became available. That meant that she would be closer to her home in Bagley. She was considered as a Traveling Clerk as Bagley had two clerks and when they were short in another area post office she would go to assist in that position.
Jackie is the daughter of Judy O’Dier and the late Jack O’Dier. She graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1976. One of her very first jobs after graduation was working at the Leader-Record and Richards Publishing Company in Gonvick. Now she has come full circle and is back in the same building as Richards Publishing, that is where the Gonvick Post Office is located.
She took courses and clerk tests for the postal service looking for a position.
She has been married to her husband Doug Ulrich for the past 38 years and they have raised six children: Emily, Maghan, Evie, SadieBeth, Annie and Cory. All girls and they are all married. They became empty nesters in January. They are the proud grandparents of 12 grandchildren with the 13th on the way. Two of the grandchildren live in Alaska but the rest are nearby in Minnesota.
She enjoys spending time with her family and loves gardening.
Jackie, “Welcome back to Gonvick after all these years.”
