Students of the Month
“ Success is the sum of small efforts - repeated day in and day out.”
~ Robert Collier
Name: Tyler Mathson, Kindergarten
Parents: Brent and Jenetta Mathson Siblings: Chasity and Malea
Comments: Tyler always comes to school with a sunny attitude and very eager to learn. He is a good example to all as he follows directions quickly and is very respectful. He has a delightful personality and he gets along very well with others. I love the enthusiasm he brings to our classroom! His classmates voted for him to be our Student of the Month. They seem to appreciate his kindness and good manners as much as I do. One student remarked, “I like Tyler because he is nice to everyone.” Another said, “I like Tyler because he draws nice.” Congratulations Tyler!
Name: Daisy Java, Grade 1 Mrs. Beard’s class
Parents: Elizabeth Barnes, Joshua Java Siblings: Rose and Noella
Comments: Daisy is a hardworking and enthusiastic first grade student. She arrives each day with a smile on her face and is prepared and ready to begin her day. Daisy is a good leader and role model for others. She listens and participates in classroom discussions, is willing to work with any of her peers, and gets right to work on her classroom assignments. We are lucky to have Daisy in our classroom. Congratulations and keep up the great work!
Student: Wyatt Abel, Grade 1
Parents: Scott and Kaila Abel Siblings: Anika and Corrine
Comment: Wyatt strives to do his best work every day! He looks for ways to help his fellow students and his teacher which ignites a friendly classroom of learners. Each of my students are given a different leadership role each week; Wyatt takes being the leader very seriously because he wants everyone in our class to be successful at doing their best. He is helpful, reliable, honest, and caring! Wyatt, you are an awesome friend and student! Congratulations, Wyatt!
Student: Paige Tollefson
Parents: Zachery Tollefson and Kristina Bumpus Siblings: Sammy, McKenzie, Isaac, and Zach
Comment: Paige is off to a great start this school year! She has all of the right qualities to be a wonderful leader in our classroom. She tries really hard to help myself and other students every day. Paige also tries really hard to make the right choices to help herself and the rest of the class. One of the best qualities that Paige has is working really hard. She works really hard to get her work done and doesn’t give up. Congratulations and keep up the great work! I’m very proud of you!
Student: Malea Mathson, Grade 3
Parents: Brent and Jenetta Mathson Siblings: Chasity & Tyler
Comment: Malea is a ray of sunshine every morning. She is excited about learning and is always willing to help friends who need her. Her enthusiasm is contagious to the students around her during the day. Malea is the first to offer up any help in class and eager to do little jobs that others are not so fond of. When put in a lead role, she enjoys the challenge and “Knocks it out of the Park”. She is a hard worker and never backs down. Congratulations Malea! You deserve it!
Student: Aden DeSchane, Grade 4
Parents: Troy and Joni DeSchane Siblings: Camille
Comment: Aden is starting fourth grade off great! He is a hard worker and is happy to be in school. He is willing to answer questions and excited to participate in class. He likes to share his ideas and “creations” with his classmates. We are excited to see what this school year brings for Aden! Congratulations Aden and keep up the good work!
Student: Vernelle Kingbird-Spears, Grade 5
Parents: Liza Spears and Verlin Kingbird Siblings: Isaac Spears and Brent Sigana
Comment Vernelle has been an amazing example for student of the month. We can always count on Vernelle to do her best, help her classmates, and keep a positive attitude. Her work ethic and delightful demeanor make her a great classmate and student. Thank you, Vernelle!
Student: Nicole Kingbird, Grade 6
Parents: Crystal Donnell and Shawn Kingbird Siblings: Ayiana, Courtney, Jr., Shawn, Gapy, Lydia, Jordan, Hunter, TJ
Comment Nicole has been nominated by her peers to be the next “Student of the Month”. Her classmates describe her as “caring and kind; never thinking negative.” “She has good stamina and work ethic.” Nicole’s positive attitude and smile is contagious. In a quiet and reserved manner, Nicole puts her best foot forward. You will often find her name on her classroom’s “Minnesota Nice” board. She’s the type of student that will hold the door for her classmates, help a friend, and work after school at tutoring. All of this, and more...and without anyone having to ask her to! We are proud to have Nicole as our classmate at C-G School.
