Peterson gets DFL endorsement for 15th term

WILLMAR, Minn. - Collin Peterson has received the Democratic-Farmer-Labor endorsement for Minnesota's 7th District seat in Congress.
Running for his 15th term in the House of Representatives, Peterson received the endorsement during the DFL 7th District Convention held in Willmar.
"From fighting for a farm bill to working to strengthen rural health care, Representative Peterson is a true champion for farmers and everyday families," Minnesota DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin said Saturday in a statement.
Peterson is expected to face Republicans Dave Hughes or Matt Prosch. Peterson defeated Hughes 53 to 47 percent in 2016. State Rep. Tim Miller, R-Prinsburg, ceased his race for Congress in December and is seeking his re-election to the Minnesota House 17A seat.
The Congressional District 7 GOP Convention is scheduled May 18-19 at Thumper Pond Resort in Ottertail.
