She has a Business Administration Degree with Health Administration from MSUM. Her emphasis was on long term care.
She did a three month internship at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston. That is affiliated with the non-profit Benedictine Health System. Addy’s mother has worked there for 30 years and she worked there for six years while in high school in the laundry department.
Her professor at MSUM advised her to check out Good Samaritan Society. She spent a three month internship at Good Samaritan Society - Fairlawn Village at Greshem, Oregon. It is an average sized, not for profit, nursing home with 97 beds.
She now takes over Good Samaritan Society in Clearbrook. It is a smaller facility with 43 beds and has nonprofit, corporate ownership. Good Samaritan Society - Clearbrook is not part of a continuing care retirement community. It participates in Medicare and Medicaid.
Her duties are to make sure that the facility runs smoothly and to serve the staff and residents.
Her first impression of the Clearbrook facility was the hardworking staff was like a family. They really care about the residents. There needs to be some work done on the building and that will be one of her projects.
