Modern Woodmen and Clearwater County Agricultural Society team up for a fund raiser

A lovely warm and moonlit evening brought a crowd to the Clearwater County Fairgrounds on Saturday evening, June 10, 2017 for an evening picnic and outdoor musical entertainment at the Stage in the Pines.
Live music was provided by the well-known Cowboy Band of Rick Grimsley, Dan Grimsley, Kelly Julin, and Doug Cronewiller from the Bagley-Bemidji area. Ron and Twila Swenson, and  Carol Sweno also entertained and were joined by Kelly Julin and Rick Grimsley. They sang and played such favorites as "Momma's Hungry Eyes", "Blue Eyes Cryin' in the rain", "Storms Never Last", and "How Can I Free Your Doubtful Mind?"
The free will offering profit was donated to the Clearwater County Fair board to pay for this summer's Clearwater County Fair 4-H Premium awards.
The special event was coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members whose chapters provide opportunities to connect through social activities and volunteer projects. The money raised at the evening picnic will be matched by Modern Woodmen's home office, up to  $2500, through the fraternal benefit society's Matching Fund program and will be used for premium awards for 4-H class and Open class.
The Matching Fund program offers Modern Woodmen members nationwide the chance to show their support for a community cause, organization or individual in need of holding fund raisers. These fund raising projects contribute more than $6.5 million to community needs nationwide each year.
For more information about how you can contribute to this fund raising event, contact John Hellquist at 218-751-8422.
As a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society, Modern Woodmen sells life insurance, annuity and investment products not to benefit stockholders but to improve the quality of life of its stakeholders-members, their families and their communities. This is accomplished through social, charitable and volunteer activities. Annually, Modern Woodmen and its members provide more than $23 million and nearly 1 million volunteer hours for community projects nationwide.
