Mayors sign proclamation for “One Vegetable, One County”

Local mayors signed proclamation stating that Clearwater County is a “One Vegetable, One Community”.
“One Vegetable, One Community” unites the communities by encouraging gardeners of all levels to plant, grow, cook and/or share a featured vegetable of the year.
One Vegetable, One Community helps to start conversations about food and how communities support healthy lifestyles.
This year’s featured vegetable is green beans. Seed packets can be picked up at one of the following locations: Bagley Public Library, Gonvick Library Link, Clearbrook-Leonard Senior Center, Bagley Senior Center, Clearwater County Food Shelf, Clearwater County Extension Office.
The aim is to see green beans grow in each corner of the county. Gardens can be in all shapes and sizes.
Beans can be grown in your own garden, school gardens, community gardens, containers on the front porch or patios and kitchen gardens, as well as in front of business and faith based organizations. Your imagination is the limit, and they want this to be a fun project for people of all ages.
The Clearwater County Fair is August 2 to 6, 2017 There will be several contests at the fair promoting green beans. More information will be coming on this issue.
