Matt Grossell Announces Bid

Clearbrook – Retired Clearwater County Deputy Sheriff Matt Grossell today announced that he will be running for House District 2A in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Grossell, a Republican, will seek the Republican endorsement for the seat being vacated by outgoing Rep. Dave Hancock. He spent eleven years as a law enforcement officer in Northern Minnesota and is a veteran of the U.S Army.

"I want to thank Rep. Dave Hancock for his service to the people of District 2A. His leadership will truly be missed," said Grossell. "Whether it was serving in the Army or as a member of law enforcement, I have always felt it was my duty to give something back after all I have received. Recently, I have felt duty’s call again. I am now at a stage in my life where I can get off the sidelines and step forward to do my part by working with others in the House of Representatives to maintain what we have in the North Country by working hard in the Capital. I want to make our area a better place to live and a better place to raise a family."

Grossell, 50, lives in Clearbrook and has three adult children.
