January Elementary Students of the Month

Student:  Lily Gerlofs, Kindergarten

Parents: Josh and Ruth Gerlofs Siblings: Madison, Molly, and Wyatt    

Comments:  Lily always comes to school full of exuberance and eager to learn. She has a fun personality and an infectious smile. She is a very creative kid, as she loves making things in the writing center every day. Her classmates voted for her to be our Student of the Month. They seem to appreciate her fun personality as much as I do! One student remarked, “I like Lily because she is nice to everyone.” Another said, “I like Lily because she asks kids to play.” Congratulations Lily!

 

Student:  Savanah Kumpula, Grade 1 

Parents: Krystal and James Kumpula Siblings:  Kaitlyn (3rd) and  Jacob (school readiness)

Comments: Savanah comes to school each day very prepared to start her day. She is a very quiet, and energetic first grade student.  There is not a task that she isn’t willing to try.  Her day is filled with quick smiles, organization, and willingness to help others. Keep up the good work Savanah.

 

Student:  Hadley DeVries, Grade 2

Parents: Michelle and John DeVries Siblings:   John (7th)

Comments:  Hadley is such a fun student to have in our class. She usually is the first one in the classroom and is busy right away doing her school work. She is a hard worker and really enjoys reading.  She loves to do any kind of art or craft and is a very creative student.  She is well mannered and respectful to her classmates.  Thanks Hadley for having a positive attitude, smiling face, and caring heart.  Congratulations for being chosen student of the month.

 

Student: Joely Hinrichs-Olson, Grade 3

Parents: Emily Hinrichs and Chris Olson 

Comments:  Joely is a talented and committed student.  She listens and participates and she finishes her work on time.  Joely is also fun to be around, especially when you need to get something done.  She is a very hard worker and I can always count on her help. I appreciate her sense of humor and her determination to do a job well.  Thank you Joely!

 

Student: Samantha Tollefson,  Grade 4

Parents: Kristina Bumpus, Zachery Tollefson Siblings:   Paige (1st grade) Isaac (Pre-K)

Comments: Samantha is a fabulous student to have in class. She comes prepared and ready to do her best each day. Samantha completes quality work on all assignments. She is also an amazing artist with a wonderful imagination. Her hard work, determination, and attention to detail also apply to her attitude and behavior toward the people around her. She is a kind and compassionate to all!. It is a joy to have Samantha in class!

 

Student: Chloe Ballard, Grade 5

Parents: Paul & Jennifer Ballard    Siblings:   Jenetta, Paul, Annaliese, John

Comments:  Chloe is an exceptional student, who works hard on all her subjects.  She does high level quality work on all assignments proving her intelligence over and over.  However, not only is she a great student, she is a wonderful person.  She is kind hearted and is always concerned about her peers.  It is an honor to be Chloe’s teacher.  Congratulations, Chloe.

 

Student: Anna Piatkoff, Grade 6

Parents: Feodor and Maria Piatkoff Siblings:   Georgie, Mihael, Susana, Timafey 

Comments: Anna walks into the classroom with a smile, focus, and a readiness to learn.  She is polite with a little mischievousness added in.  As a student she is always willing to help out with an answer or to make the class chuckle.  Anna is a wonderful role model for her peers and all other students.  Her classmates say: “She is very organized.” “Anna is a great help and always has a smile to share.  She is funny and is always telling a joke to brighten our day.” “I would like to nominate Anna for her helpfulness and enthusiasm.” Anna, you are a joy to have in the classroom!  Keep up the fantastic work!
