Hannah Marsh: New Sixth Grade Teacher at Clearbrook-Gonvick

Hannah Marsh will be one of the new faces on the staff at Clearbrook-Gonvick School when classes start on September 3rd. Hannah has accepted a position as a 6th grade teacher for the district. This opportunity became available when Pam Bagasson moved from 6th grade to the newly created K-3 math intervention classroom.
Hannah Gunvalson Marsh grew up in the area. She graduated from Bemidji State University in 2008 with an Elementary Education (K-6) license and Pre-primary emphasis. She has also completed her master’s degree in K-6 Reading and Mathematics. Hannah comes to Clearbrook-Gonvick School with nine years of experience as a kindergarten teacher at Northern Elementary and Paul Bunyan Elementary schools in Bemidji.
Hannah’s decision to become a teacher began when she was still an elementary school student. Her second-grade teacher, Mrs. Lien, sparked Hannah’s interest in education.
“She absolutely loved each student, had a passion for teaching, and inspired me to become a teacher!” Hannah said of Mrs. Lien.
Hannah lives in rural Gonvick with her husband Steven. They are the parents of Liv (6), Hallie (4), and Dawson (1). When Hannah is not teaching she enjoys being with her family, Ranger riding, spending time outside, playing volleyball, and traveling.
Hannah is excited about teaching 6th grade this year. She looks forward to collaborating with the Clearbrook-Gonvick staff. She appreciates how each teacher brings different strengths, tools, and ideas to the teaching team.
Hannah’s goals for the coming school year include helping her students feel confident and comfortable in their classroom. As their teacher, Hannah wants her students to know how much she cares and believes in them. Hannah plans to do everything she can to ensure that productive, meaningful, and engaged learning happens in her classroom.
“If we have a positive classroom community, we can do anything!” Hannah adds.
