Free gate and free parking at 110th County Fair

Summer is here and the Clearwater County Fair board is gearing up for the 110th annual county fair. The free gate and free parking is an excellent way for families and friends to meet and enjoy everything that is available on the fairgrounds located on the north end of Bagley.

The current fair board has lined up several things for the August 3rd to 7th event. Currently on the board there is Cindy Benson, Alroy Lewis, Scott Anderson, Scott Fawver, Al Paulson, Kraig Fontaine, Dan Riewer, Al Rasmussen, Mark Larson, Cheryl Grover, Dee Strandlien, Duane Hayes, Amy Kent, Alton Walker, Mark Titera and Mary Ann Erickson.

Wednesday, August 3: Gospel Music Night – Greg Hager

Thursday, August 4 – Cirque Adventure Cirque De’Soleil.

Friday, August 5 – 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. Demonstrations, Stage in the Pines. 5:00 p.m. Clearwater County Emerging Leaders Recognition and Reunion. 7 p.m. Wojo Rodeo.

Saturday, August 6 – Rodeo at 7:00 p.m.

Sunday, August 7 – 2:00 p.m. Demo Derby Preliminary. 7:00 p.m. Demo Derby Finals. Questions about rules, drivers and pit crew can be directed to Al Ysen at 218-556-5552.

Other events:  Wed. Aug. 3 - 5:00 p.m. 4-H Style Review at Stage in the Pines. 7:00 p.m. Rhythm & Ride Horse Show in the horse arena.

Saturday, August 6 – 9 to 4 will be the Flea Market and Craft show in the Pines. 11:00 a.m. Senior Citizens of the Year at 11:00 a.m. in the Hockey Arena. Open Horse Show 9:00 a.m. in the horse arena. 1:00 p.m. Chocolate Contest. 5:00 p.m. Salsa Contest judging at 6:30 p.m. in Petersen Pavilion.

Sunday, August 7 – 12:30 p.m. Premier Showmanship, 2:00 p.m. 4-H Awards Program, 2:30 p.m. Lego’s “A Day at the Fair” Contest in the Petersen Pavilion, 3:00 p.m. Emerging Leaders Program, 3:30 p.m. Premier 4-H Livestock Auction.

4-H members and community members should plan to enter as many exhibits as you can. Over $24,000 plus was paid in premiums last year. You can get a premium book with entry information and time to enter at the County Extension Service Office in Bagley, First National Bank in Bagley, First National Bank in Fosston, First State Bank in Clearbrook, Northern State Bank in Gonvick and Riverwood Band in Bagley or Bemidji. 

A pre-entry form for open class is located inside the premium book. That is for Open Class only and not 4-H members.
