Envirothon Competiton held at Bemidji

This year the 2017 Area 8 Envirothon was held on May 3rd at Bemidji State Park. The topics that the teams are tested on are Aquatics, Forestry, Soils, Wildlife and Current events. Teams that place get a chance to go to state and possibly nationals.  There were 31 teams plus 2 alternate teams. (12 senior and 19 junior).

Both Clearbrook-Gonvick and Bagley schools sent teams this year and both schools did great. Bagley had  a Junior 6th grade team brought by Matt Cage and although being some of the youngest students placed 3rd in the JR. competition only missed second place by a 1 point tie breaker.

Clearbrook-Gonvick brought 3 Senior teams this year taught by Kim Anderson and one of her teams won the Oral Competition which is the hardest part of the competition. Great jobs to both schools and a great big THANK YOU to the teachers that put the time in to put these teams together.
