It started back in February when everyone came to their local Republican caucus, then the Clearwater County Convention where Matt Grossell and Steve Green were endorsed for MN House Dis. 2A & 2B. On May 19th we had the CD 7 Convention in Ottertail at Thumper Pond, with over 320 in attendance, where Dave Hughes was endorsed for U.S. House.
Finally, the 2018 MN GOP State Convention on June 1st & 2nd was held in Duluth at the DECC, with over 2,200 in attendance. It was exciting, and one could feel the high energy in the room -very successful convention! The Republican Party was unified in endorsing Jeff Johnson for MN Governor, John Howe for MN Secretary of State, Doug Wardlow for MN Attorney General, and Pam Myhra for MN State Auditor. Endorsed for U.S. Senate seats: Jim Newberger (who will be running against Amy Klobuchar-D) and Karin Housley (wife of hockey coach Phil Housley) who is running to fill Al Frankin's remaining term.
They all gave strong, inspiring speeches which are a must see and can be found on youtube. Jennifer Carnahan, Chair for the Republican Party of Minnesota called for a united front and big turn outs in the August Primary and November Elections.
