Tammy Pallum has opened a new day care center called Candyland. The name suggests candy but the menu each day is very nutritious. She has been licensed in the state since April. It was a lot of work to go through and there was also a background check on every member in the household. She has one at the present time and will be getting two more with one as a baby. She is licensed for 10 and 2 of them could be a baby.
She is a graduate of Midway in Inkster, North Dakota. Just west of Grand Forks.
She had a day care when her children were young and that was 27 years ago. She taught them sign language and she is also doing that with her newest charge with the spoken word. She and her husband Randy have four children, Randy, Renae, Ryan and Rilee. They also have four grandchildren. Two of them living in Borup and two in Kansas. Randy has a business in Borup so he gets to see the grandchildren there a little more than she does.
They have lived on property a mile west of the Bethlehem Church for five years and they built a new home in 2015. She worked for 15 years for the postal service and the last three years as the Postmaster in Fosston. She is open from 7 in the morning to 7 Monday through Friday.
Her basement is set up for her day care and each month she plans to change the décor. She will be having a gingerbread house in December along with the other items for children to play with.
She has a morning and afternoon schedule that includes breakfast, free time, snacks, outside exercise, nap time, lunch and quiet play.
She will be receiving a start –up grant and that will be spent on playground stuff for outside.
If you are looking for a spot for Day Care her number is 218-435-1569.
