Where did you go to High School? East Grand Forks Senior High
What college are you attending? MSUM-Moorhead MN
What brought you to Clearbrook-Gonvick School? I decided to live on the lake with my parents to try and save some money before graduating college. I toured Clearbrook-Gonvick last school year to decide if that was where I wanted to go, and I'm glad I made the choice I did!
What classes/subjects are you currently teaching? I am currently teaching 7th grade U.S History and 8th grade Geography.
Who is your supervisor? Jolee Hjort
What are your goals in the future? My goal is to make History fun for students in the same way my History teachers did for me while I was growing up. If it wasn't for my great teachers, I wouldn't have chosen this profession!
What quality do you most hope to inspire in others as a role model to the young students in this school? Something I've always wanted to make sure the young students know is that education is important, and that you can learn something new every single day. If I can still learn new things every day, so can you!
Tell us about your family: My dad's name is Jerry. He is from East Grand Forks, MN and went to college at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. My mom's name is Kirsten. She is from Grand Rapids, MN and went to school at the University of North Dakota. My parents now live on Clearwater Lake and both work in Bemidji. I have a sister named Keely who lives by Fargo, ND. She attended North Dakota State University. Last but not least, I have a niece who is almost two years old named Quinn.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of teaching? I've always loved watching sports ever since I was a kid, so I watch a lot of football and basketball. Finding time to catch up with friends is something I always try to do, because I'm always interested in what's going on with their lives like they are with mine. I also love going out by the lake and relaxing on the water in the summer time.
