Best Lefse roller demonstrates at Essentia Living Center

The best lefse roller ever demonstrated his skills at the Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston. Jim Papke volunteered his services to make lefse for the residents through the Lions Club in Fosston. Many of the Essentia residents were able to enjoy and taste the products that Papke made. He is a Special Education teacher at the Fosston Public Schools. Rose Odegaard commented many times how good a lefse roller that Papke was and that she should get her daughter Joann to take some lessons from him.  Her daughter Joann Birkeland lives in Gonvick where Rose lived for many years.

Rose will be 100 in May and she has made many batches of the lefse in her lifetime. She loved to bake and you could smell the good odors as you got close to her house. Rose, was the Gonvick Lions Rodeo Grand Marshall this year at their activities.
