Mark Fogelson will be playing his music at the Bagley Art in the Park on July 9th from 12:00 to 2:30. Mark plays Folk Music which is just what it sounds like: music of the people. The songs of Mark Fogelson capture this essence of traditional Folk by focusing on human stories, emotions and triumphs. His songs hearken back to an era when storytellers handed tales down through generations, yet they remain powerful commentary about the rapidly changing world in which we live.
Mark has released three albums of original songs and loves to share them, as well as unrecorded songs, with small groups and large while traveling between his homes in Minnesota and Arizona. His easy listening "folk-country" style of singing and finger picking guitar blends naturally into stories from what he knows: people, land and life. Mark believes that ordinary, everyday life experiences give birth to songs that speak to many people of all ages. Mark does not sing "Top 40" tunes, but instead, sings the songs that have chosen to come through him. His performances may bring laughter to touch your heart, tears that arise from your soul and special memories that stir your mind.
At his shows, Mark explains to the audience how each song came to him, and listeners are truly captivated by his narratives. His songs range in theme from family, such as in Sometimes it Seems, to new beginnings, as described in Plant New Dreams. Mark also brings smiles to audiences' faces with songs such as If Jesus Was Norwegian and B.S. Song.
Please stop by on July 9th and listen to the music of Mark Fogelson.
