Comments from
head coach Casey Kroulik
The Bears will now travel to the Fargodome to take on the Stephen-Argyle Storm for the Section 8 Championship. The team lost earlier in the year to the Storm 40-30 in a great game, that saw 3 different lead changes, and a Bears lead going into the 4th quarter. This game is sure to be another great one that more than likely will be a battle for all four quarters.
The Bears have consistently improved each week, as was shown last Saturday in the turn around of scores from the first KCC meeting to the second. The Bears are also undefeated on the road this year (5-0!) so hopefully that trend continues.
C-G 28 and KCC 6
Scoring.
CG - Ethan Dorman 4 yard run. Two point conversion by Dorman was good.
CG - Ethan Dorman runs for 34 yards. Two point conversion pass from Dorman to Nathanael Dahl was good.
CG - Ethan Dorman runs for 10 yards. Two point conversion pass no good.
KCC - Dawson Busse 53 yard pass to Bryden Swenson. Point after kick no good.
CG - Tristan Bakke 5 yard run. Two point conversion pass no good.
The Bears traveled to Hallock on Saturday, October 29th to take on the Kittson County Central Bearcats in the Section 8 Semi-Finals. The Bearcats had bested the Bears earlier in the year with a 25-6 victory at Clearbrook. However, the Bears were confident going into the game, knowing how much they have improved since that earlier meeting.
The Bears offensive and defensive lines set the tone for the game, dominating in the trenches on both sides of the ball. The Bears defense was able to hold a potent KCC offense to only 84 yards rushing. The Bears themselves rushed for 329 yards! This rushing was led by Sophomore Ethan Dorman who finished the day with 187 yards on 23 carriers. Seniors Trevor Rogstad and Tristan Bakke added another 60 and 54, respectively.
