Pond School reunion held October 18

Five former students of Pond School were part of a three-school reunion held Sunday, October 18 and hosted by Charlie and Pearl Evenwoll on their lake property north of Pinewood.
The three country schools were District 47, Riverview School (District 39) and Pond School (District 52). About 70 former students and their spouses attended the event which featured a potluck lunch, a special reunion cake and much reminiscing.
Pond School was located on the northwest corner of the junction of County Road 2 and Glacier Road about 2 miles south of Leonard. It was established on July 9, 1900 when George French presented a petition to the Beltrami County Board of Commissioners. -Photo courtesy of Becky Colebank
