New Pastor welcomed at two Mac churches

theran Church and Trinity Free Lutheran Church in McIntosh recently hired a new Pastor. Pastor Karl Anderson became the new Pastor for both churches.

 

Pastor Anderson came to McIntosh after serving in the Zerkel area for the past 5 years.

 

He grew up in the Fridley area of the Twin Cities. After graduating he went to a missions training program in West Texas. He then returned to the Twin Cities where he started college, but went on, instead to a job in the shipping business.

 

Through some connections he made his way to England where he spent a few years working.  He then returned to the States and worked for a shipping company in Southwest Minnesota.

 

While living there he was married to his wife Debbie.

 

They returned to the Twin Cities where Karl started Seminary School. 

 

In the past, he had always been active in his church as a Lay Preacher which helped him to confirm his calling and make his way to recognizing and developing his gifts.

 

After attending Seminary, he, his wife, and his three daughters, Kaelyn, Sarah, and Leona moved to Yankton, South Dakota where he served his internship.

 

He returned to Minnesota a few years later when he was hired to serve at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Argyle, Minnesota. He then moved to Zerkel.

 

While serving as Pastor at Rice Free Lutheran Church in Zerkel and Alida Free Lutheran Church, he also worked part-time as an EMT with the Bagley Ambulance and with the Clearwater County First Responders.

 

He has been active in Toastmaster off and on again since about 1990, last in the Bemidji club.

 

He loved the group as they were a great help to him with learning more about himself and public speaking.

 

Last October, Pastor Anderson came to share a service with the members of Trinity and Mount Carmel, where he got to meet with members of both congrgations.

 

In January he was asked to serive as Pastor for both churches and accepted the position. He moved into town with his wife, Debbie and two of their daughters.
