Meet Chelsey Ehlers, one of the newest staff members

Chelsey Ehlers was hired to teach in the Clearbrook-Gonvick School beginning in August of this year. She is teaching Kindergarten and some elementary music.

Not only does she have a busy day at the school but her days at home are just as busy. She and her husband Paul have two children a son Aiden age three and a daughter Zoey who is nine months old. They live in their newly purchased home south of Clearbrook.

She received her teaching degree from St. Cloud State University. She is a 2005 Clearbrook-Gonvick High School. She is the daughter of Wendy and Jeff Basinger of Clearbrook.

Her interests include anything outdoors, sports, and spending time with her family.

She has previous teaching experience. She substitute taught in Montana and Nevada for a combined four years and taught at Red Lake Middle School for two years as an English teacher.

When asked what made her want to become a teacher she replied, "all of the wonderful teachers that I had here at Clearbrook-Gonvick."

Her goals for this year are to create an environment for students where they feel safe and excited to learn.

She was asked what she hopes to bring to Clearbrook-Gonvick and your students. "I hope that I can add a fresh perspective to the already amazing things going on at Clearbrook-Gonvick and that I can make the personal connections with my students that will keep them loving to learn and wanting to grow into responsible citizens."
