Dave Gedde will leave bank position to Kris Munter
The end of August Kris Munter will take over the official duties from Dave Gedde at the Northern State Bank in Gonvick. Dave has been the Executive Vice President at the bank since August of 1997.
Dave lives in Gonvick with his wife Ramona and has two adult children Sarah and Michael.
Dave served in the US Army in Vietnam and is a graduate from Bemidji State University. He started his banking career in 1969 after he was discharged from the Army. He worked for the Minnesota Dept of Commerce as a State Bank Examiner from 1969 to 1976 and then as a loan officer at Farmer and Merchants State Bank of Pierz from 1976-1990 and lastly, he worked in Lake City before moving to Gonvick in 1997.
Dave and his wife are originally from the Brainerd area where he attended high school in Pillager.
Dave is retiring at the end of August and plans to fish, hunt, play golf, and "Do whatever the wife tells me to do." They don’t plan to move and Dave says, "It was beautiful getting to know the people." Dave will surely be missed at the bank but it won’t be the last we see of him.
Kris Munter graduated from Fosston High School and went on to get his degree in Ag. Business from North Datota State University in Fargo. Yes he is a Bison fan.
He spent 13 years working for Farm Service Agency in various locations. He worked at American Federal Bank in Fosston for nine years before working seven years at Clearwater Energy Group out of Clearbrook.
His typical day will be dealing with customers, reports to review, standard processes and banking compliance.
He is looking forward to meeting the people in the area and expanding and growing the business.
Kris and his wife Patty have three adult children, Kelly and (Kyle) Entzel live in Grand Forks where she is a school teacher, Josh Munter is employed at Rydell Chevrolet in Grand Forks and Emma Munter is a student at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.
