February 12, The Granlund Lodge #240 of the Sons of Norway will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday at 2:00 in the afternoon at the Embassy Community Center in Fosston

February 14, Saturday Valentine’s Day. Bring your honey to the Gonvick American Legion for their famous fish fry. That starts at 5:00 p.m.

February 15, there will be Youth Night at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook. They will be showing the movie Titans at 5:00 p.m. to those 3rd grade and up.

February 17, Clearwater County Humane Society will be hosting their annual meeting at the Bagley American Legion Hall at 6:00pm. This meeting is open to the public and they would love to see our community members!

February 21st 29th Annual Production Sale at the Nordlund Stock Farm, LLC 1:00 pm at the farm, Clearbrook. Family owned and operated Angus and Red Angus ranch. Managed by Mike and Sam Nordlund. Nordlund Stock Farm is a seedstock operation in Minnesota that focuses on Black Angus and Red Angus cattle built on balance.

Salad Luncheon at noon with the program at 1:00 p.m. Guest Speaker will be Pastor Brigitte Simpson of People’s Church in Bemidji. Special music by Glenda (Torgerson) Olson and Tracey (Rhen) John. There will be a free-will offering which will be given to the People’s Church for their ongoing mission in the Bemidji community.

Sons of Norway meeting
The Granlund Lodge #240 of the Sons of Norway will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, February 12, at 2:00 in the afternoon at the Embassy Community Center in Fosston.  After the meeting and snacks, the program will feature a 45 minute movie entitled, "Touring Southern Norway". The review states, "In this DVD we take you on a trip beginning in the town of Stavanger. We follow the coastline around the Southern tip of Norway and up to Telemark where we head west across the rugged central mountains. We travel by motorhome and bring you the images just as you would experience them if you were there. This is the next best thing to actually touring Norway yourself and a great way to acquaint yourself if you plan a future trip of your own."  The meeting and movie are open to the public and a great way to spend a winter afternoon with friends.  For questions, contact Wes or Susie Roland, 218-435-1230.

Historical Society Annual Meeting Sunday February 22
The Clearwater County Historical Society will hold its 2025 Annual Meeting on Sunday February 22, 2026 at the Good Shepherd Church in Clearbrook
The meeting will begin at 1:30 and will include election of one new board member, officers and a business meeting.
After the meeting, a short history program will be offered. Light refreshments will be served.
Everyone is welcome. Not a member? That’s okay! You are welcome to come and see what the society is all about.

Pine Lake near Gonvick, MN
Notice to Operate Aeration System
An aeration system creating thin ice and open water shall be in operation on the Northeast portion of Pine Lake near the public access. This site is located in the SW¼ Section 22, Pine Lake Township, Clearwater County.
Please use caution as open water and thin ice conditions can fluctuate greatly. Stay clear of marked area!

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is waiving vehicle permit fees at all 73 state parks and recreation areas. This Free Park Day is one of four days each year on which visitors don’t need a vehicle permit at state parks and recreation areas. The DNR offers one-free day in each season, giving Minnesotans an opportunity to experience the parks at different times of year.

Free days for Minnesota state parks and recreation areas in 2026 are:

  • Saturday, April 25
  • Saturday, June 13
  • Friday, Nov. 27

Nominations Sought for 2026 First Lady 
The 2026 Clearwater County First Lady will be held on April 11 at the Bagley American Legion Auditorium. The Bagley Auxiliary will be co-hosting the event.
Your help is needed to select the 2026 recipient. If you know a woman who should be considered for the award, please send a letter with her name and include your reasons for her nomination- this can include any accomplishments in her life such as her career highlights or volunteer years of service and other characteristics that you think should be considered. First Lady nominees must currently live in Clearwater County and be able to attend the event on April 11.  Nominations of women of all ages are encouraged.

The Radiothon
The 1st Annual Youth Connection Fundraising Banquet and dinner show will be presented March 6, at 5:30 p.m. Evening includes appetizer, dinner, dessert and the show. It will be held at the Clear Waters Life Center in Gonvick.
