Girl’s basketball play last regular season game

Last week, Monday, February 22nd, the Chargers girl’s basketball team traveled to Newfolden where they lost by just 3 points to the Freeze. The final score was 54-51. Varisty Head Coach Elroy Johnsrud said, “We came out slow in this game. I think we spotted them a 17-5 lead right away. Then it took the whole game, but we slowly chipped away at their lead. We scored 17 points in the first and 34 in the second half. We held the Freeze to 23 in the second half. Madison (Maddog) had a good game. She had 18 points, 3 rebounds, and shot 55%. She has been really good for us on the defensive side this year. She is physical, and she has started to beat the team to their spots, which throws off their offense. This was our last regular season game and we are proud of the girls for their heart in this game, and the way they played all season.”
