Monday, Dec. 14th: GBB vs. Stephen Argyle at NCTC. GG 45, SA 68.
Ashley Moe 10 pts, Ashlyn Henrickson 4 rebs, Brooke Limesand 2 pts, Carlye Kiesow 2 pts/4 rebs, Hannah Dietsch 2 pts, Karlee Johnson 2 rebs, Madison Bakken 9 pts/2 rebs, Mariah Coan 6 pts, Shantel Verbout 14 pts/5 rebs.
Coaches Comments: This was our second time playing Stephen Argyle this season. So, this was a good time to see if we had improved in the 3 weeks that we have had since we last met them. I think we have. We handled the pressure better, ran through our offense, made some of our outside shots, and played good defense. We had the lead with 9 minutes left in the 1st half. Our starters and subs started to get tired and we started to make some mental mistakes. That’s a part of the game that can fixed. Madison Bakken did a good job defensively and offensively. She also did a good job on the floor in general, making sure that everybody was in their place. Ashley Moe had an excellent night shooting the ball.
Tuesday, Dec. 15th: GBB vs. Northern Freeze at NCTC. GG 47, Freeze 52.
Ashley Moe 2 rebs, Ashlyn Henrickson 1 pt/6 rbs, Carlye Kiesow 2 pts, Hannah Dietsch 12 pts/8 rebs, Madison Bakken 11 pts/5 rbs, Mariah Coan 6 pts/4 rebs, Shantel Verbout 15 pts/5 rebs.
Coaches Comments: It was a hard fought game. A bunch of our passes were tipped by the defenders for a turnover. We had 28 turnovers. Defensively we played well. Hannah had a good game with 12 points and 8 rebounds. She also did a good job bringing the ball up and starting our offense. Mariah Coan came off the bench and played well on both sides of the ball.
Thursday, Dec. 17th: GBB vs. RLCC at NCTC. GG 69, RLCC 37
Ashley Moe 11 pts/1 reb, Hannah Dietsch 11 pts/8 rebs, Ashlyn Henrickson 4 pts/5 rebs, Karlee Johnson 2 pts/4 rebs, Mariah Coan 4 pts/4 rebs, Shantel Verbout 28 pts/7 rebs, Madison Bakken 9 pts/1 reb.
Coaches Comments: We came off the tip and played well. We pressured the ball, and our second line came up with some steals. We hit our outside shots as well. That is going to be something we need when the defenders pack the paint. Overall we shot 46%, and made 80% of our free throws. We turned the ball over 9 times, which is our lowest total this season.
Friday, December 18th: BBB vs. Northern Freeze in Grygla. GG 39, Freeze 69
Scoring: Austin Brateng 9, Blaine Kriel 8, Tyler Stinar 7, Dylan Walker 7, Ben Groven 6, Ty Jelle 2.
Rebounds: Dylan Walker 7, Blaine Kriel 6, Ty Jelle 5, Tyler Stinar 4, Austin Brateng 3, Benji Wilebski 2, Ben Groven 2, Cameron Naeseth 2, Robert Brummitt 1.
Coaches Comments: We played a decent 1st half. Looking at the stats we were even in most categories except our shooting percentage. We actually got off 6 more shots. They shot the ball better than we did. We are struggling putting the ball through the hoop. The Freeze has a very good team.
