Obituary for Diane J. Harstad age 65, of Bemidji, MN entered eternal rest at the Sandford Medical Center in Bemidji, MN on August 2, 2024, from Lung Cancer surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 14th, 2024, at the Community Center at 200 Elm Street SW in Clearbrook, MN from 1-5 with a Tribute to Diane starting at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements are with Whispering Pines Funeral Home of Hackensack, Mn.
Diane J. Harstad was born on May 2, 1959, to Clinton and Ardyce (Sorenson) Harstad. Diane graduated from Bagley High School, furthering her education at Bemidji State University. She lived in Bagley, around the Twin Cities, Red Wing, Goodhue, and in Bemidji, MN. She had many jobs over the years; however, she found her passion for care giving for others in need. Diane cared for many people, including a few elderly ladies over the age of 106. She showed them unconditional compassion, positive nurturing and support until their passing, and she remained friends with their families. She made a valuable difference in the lives she touched.
Diane was known for her Love of having Tea Parties, she even mailed out special invitations and planned out every single detail. She had a gift of hospitality. She captured so many special events and family outings on camera. She cherished her time with her grandchildren.
Diane will be remembered for her infectious Laughter; her kind and adventurous spirit and making family events Fun.
Diane battled a short time with Stage four Lung Cancer, she remained positive, and courageous and was always thinking of everyone else. She encouraged everyone to get a base line (Xray/CT Scan) of their lungs in the event they would need it for later testing.
Diane leaves behind her son Jeremey Harstad (Koreen) and six cherished grandchildren, Hailey, Aubrey, Wyley, Bradey of Red Wing, MN, Ryan and Torrence of Goodhue, MN. Two sisters, Sandy (Mike) Winge of Leonard, Mn and Karen (Todd) Johnson of Leonard, MN. Nieces; Lindsey (Adam) Sycks of Lakeville, MN, Trista (Josh) Flaten of Roseau, MN; Nephew, Luke (Addie) Johnson of Leonard, MN. Great Nieces and Nephews, Hunter, MaKenzie, CJ, Gavin, Ryland and Noelle, Great Nephew and Neice, JackAlan and Isabell Sage.
Diane is proceeded in death by her father Clinton Harstad, brother Michael Harstad, and a niece Kerisa (Fredrickson) Mondt.
