Services for Theodore “Ted” Berglund Jr
Theodore “Ted” Berglund Jr, 69, of Bagley, formerly of Clearbrook, MN died on September 8, 2016 at the Silver Bay Veterans Home in Silver Bay, MN.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley starting at 6:00 pm. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, MN at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverends Richard Kirchman and Paul Magelssen officiating. Dinner will be served at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook following the service. There will be a memorial motorcycle ride following the dinner. It will end at the Silver Creek Cemetery for Military Honors accorded by the Melvin Johnson American Legion Post #256 of Clearbrook. Please feel free to join us on our ride or meet us the cemetery.
Ted was born January 10, 1947 to parents Theodore and Ione (Halvorson) Berglund at Fosston, Minnesota. He graduated from Eugene, Oregon in 1965. He served in the United States Army serving our country from July of 1966 to July of 1968 at Ft. Lewis, Washington. He went to trade school to be an Electrician, he owned and operated
“Hill River Electric” for 30+ years. Ted loved fishing at Lake of the Woods, riding his “Harley” and traveling south in the winter. Ted spent the last months of his life at the Silver Bay Veterans Home. He loved spending time with his family, his children and his grandchildren. They were very special to him. Ted was a member of the Melvin Johnson American Legion Post #256 of Clearbrook, MN; the Clearwater Trail Blazer Snowmobile Club; the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #351 and The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Clearbrook, MN. He married Helen Anderson in which two daughters were born. He married Linda Mathison of Bagley in 2003.
He is survived by his wife - Linda Berglund of Bagley, MN
Daughters - Marnie (John) Berglund-Ludwig of Duluth, MN and Angie (Tracey) Stine of Iron River, MI. Five granddaughters - Riley, Brooke, Seanna, Gretchen and Laura; Two grandsons – Timothy and Michael.
Two step-sons – Kevin (Trish) Mathison of Bagley, MN and Michael (Kari) Mathison of Bagley, MN. Three step-granddaughters – Amanda, Emma and Mariah and one step-grandson – Seth.
Two Aunts – Muriel Halverson of Clearbrook, MN and Nan (Wilfred) Berglund of Grand Rapids, MN. Step-sister – Nancy (Jim) Westphall and step-brother – Steve (Jane) Crosby, both of Portland, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister – Gloria, many aunts and uncles.
