Services for Roger Lind

Roger Lind, 57 of Battle Lake died Monday, September 5, 2016, at Sanford Health in Fargo.
Roger David Lind was born on August 7, 1959, in Grand Forks, North Dakota the son of Robert and Delores (Sannes) Lind. He was baptized and confirmed in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks, Minnesota and graduated from the East Grand Forks High School in 1977. Following graduation he attended the Vocational School in Bemidji, Minnesota where he got his degree in the field of Carpentry.
Roger and Rochelle Rouland were married in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Grand Forks for a short time before moving to Champlin, where he built the family home. He and Rochelle divorced. He later moved to Babbitt and then to Battle Lake to help his parents. He belonged to the Carpenters Union, working in carpentry and was a master builder and finisher. Roger helped build many million and multi-million dollar homes in Minneapolis. He did the finishing work at the Minneapolis Convention Center, as well as the entry at Giants Ridge Ski Resort by Biwabik, worked on the Staples Hospital, and was involved in many projects requiring a master carpenter. He enjoyed waterskiing, swimming, was involved in high school sports and especially liked hockey, also playing intramural hockey during tech school. Roger was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing, spending a lot of time fishing on Birch Lake by Ely. He also had a special interest in the weather and the formation of weather systems. Roger loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, Joshua (Darcy) Lind of Maple Grove; grandson, Harrison Lind; parents, Robert and Delores Lind of Battle Lake; sister, Shari Lind of Tucson, AZ; brother, Gary (fiancée’, Barb Jacobson) Lind of Brooklyn Park; nephew, Tanner Lind of Brooklyn Park; two nieces, Jamie (Jesse) Stripe of Ft. Worth, TX and Keely Lind of Plymouth; and by numerous friends and relatives. Roger was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Estella Lind and Grundy and Ella Sannes; and by two uncles, Richard Sannes and Glenn Sannes.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service.

Interment: Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery by McIntosh
