Services for June Iola (Gunderson) Brendalen

June Iola (Gunderson) Brendalen 100 of Clearbrook, MN entered eternal rest February blank 2024 at the Bagley Sanford Hospital.
June Iola was born June 2nd, 1923, in Marathon County, Hogarty, Wisconsin.  The seventh child of Edwin and Harriet Gunderson.
Since the Eau Claire River flowed right by her home, June spent many happy days swimming in and skating on the river with family and friends.  She attended country school and high school locally, but the family moved to Ferndale California where June graduated high school in 1940.  After WWII, she moved to Milwaukee where she worked in an ammunition factory.  It was in Milwaukee that she met and married John Brendalen on March 31,1951.  June and John had two children, John Jr (Johnny) and Judy.  In 1958, they bought and moved to the Brendalen family farm near Clearbrook MN.
June was a faithful dairy farmer’s wife doing her fair share of chores by working side by side milking cows and field work and housework.  She loved making apple pies with the apples from the tree her mother-in-law planted from seed.  She loved to garden both vegetables and flowers.  She loved going between the farms on her 4-wheeler into her 90s.  Missing a way to easily get around the farm, Grandpa bought a golf cart that she called her “go cart” and loved going around the farm with that until we had to put it away for winter this year.  June was a member of the Garden Club.  She was also a member of Elim Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aid. She loved taking care of and helping not only family but others too.  Her home was always open to family, neighbors, and friends and sometimes animals.
June is survived by her daughter Judy Tollefson.  Grandchildren Jolyn (Bill) Fisher, Janell (Steven) Wieder, Justin Tollefson, Laura (Chris) VanDam.  Honorary Grandchild Liz Tollefson.  Great-Grandchildren, Oliver Nelson, Gabe and Liam Wieder and Luke VanDam.  Many nieces and Nephews and other family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years John Sr, her son Johnny, her daughter-in-law Judy, son-in law Larry, parents, and 8 siblings.
As per her wishes there will be no funeral.  We will hold a Celebration of Life in the spring.  Interment will be at the Elim Lutheran Cemetery.
