Services for Duane Leonard Bergerson

Duane Leonard Bergerson, 90, of Gonvick, Minnesota died peacefully surrounded by his family and friends from complication of acute myeloid Leukemia on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Cornerstone Assisted Living in Bagley, MN. Duane was diagnosed in May of 2024 with his cancer.
Memorial services were held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at United Lutheran Church in Berner, Minnesota with Pastor Mark Kindem officiating. Visitation was held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with Pastor Kris Snyder giving a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN. Interment was held at the Bethany Cemetery in Gully MN.
The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Duane was born in Gully (Polk County) Minnesota to Bennie and Mabel (Sweno) Bergerson. Duane was the 3rd of 9 children. He went to country school until the 8th grade. In 1989, he married Leona Kindem of Gonvick. Duane was diagnosed with cancer on May 2, 2024.
Duane was a very hard worker and worked for many farmers in the area. He loved his Ford pickups. He was a very strong willed, extremely nice, caring, lovable man who would help anybody that needed help. He enjoyed his talks with Leif Sather when they could speak in Norwegian. Duane loved his family and friends and was waiting to meet his Great Granddaughter, Hannah. (Which he did just before passing away.)
Duane is survived by his wife of 35 years, Leona Bergerson of Gonvick, MN.
Daughters-Kim Eckman of Gonvick, MN; and Wendy Kindem of Gully, MN.
Son-Wayne Kindem of Gully, MN.
Siblings-Floyd, Delores, and Corrine.
Grandchildren-Kyle (Alexis Elston) Edevold, Justin (Brittanne) Edevold, Shelby (Joe) Ginther, Loren (Serena Stoeck) Edevold, Ashley, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Eckman, Austin (Alison) Kindem, Taylor Anderson and Cheyenne Kindem. Great Grandchildren-Sophia, Natalie, Peyton and Ben Edevold, Jackson and Cyrus Edevold, Gracie and Hannah Edevold, Ryder, Nolyn, and Kane Kindem
Brother-in-law-Dennis Olson. Sisters-in-law-Eileen Berg and Janet Olson. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Parents-Bennie and Mabel; Siblings-Kenneth, Melfred, Glen, Melvin, and Marlys; Sisters-in-law/brothers-in-law-Eloise, Hilda, Lloyd, Kenneth, and Palmer.
