Rodney Thomas Morris

Rodney Thomas Morris, 57 of Bemidji passed away April 02, 2026, at The Emeralds of

Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids, MN with family by his side.

 

Rodney was born January 25, 1969, in Bemidji to Raymond “Tom” Morris Sr. and Elsie

“Diane” Morris. He grew up in Zerkel, MN on the Bellefy family farm and attended

elementary school in Bagley. In 1984 his family moved to Bemidji, and he attended

Bemidji Middle School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1988.

He worked at Dickinson Lumber from 1989 until they closed and continued in the

lumber yard occupation at Cass Forests Products. He later worked doing masonry work

and at American Garage Door. He was a great carpenter, helping family and friends

with remodels and any miscellaneous projects. Rodney took pride in being the oldest of

four and always reminded his younger siblings he was the oldest and could do things

they could not, like sitting in the front seat of the car and riding a bigger bike. He

enjoyed Nascar racing, hunting, wrestling, spending time with family, picnics, BBQ’s and

especially playing with his two dogs, who he called his boys.

 

Rodney is survived by his longtime partner, Anita Robinson, his “boys” Ice and Hammy,

Sister Rachael (Jeffrey) Mattson, of Blaine, MN. Brother Raymond Jr (Michelle) Morris

of Bemidji, and sister Renae Roedel (Matt Rosenthal) of Rochester, MN. Special

Nephew Wesley Mattson; nephews Justin (Paige) Morris and Dalton Eckenrode. Nieces

Kela (Lee) Fetchenhier; Kayla Pederson, Courtney Eckenrode, Tamika Eckenrode and

Jessa Mattson. Great nephews, Bennett Eckenrode, Ayden Pederson, Lincoln Dorr, and

Ma’kari Young; Great nieces Noella Pederson and Brailyn Eckenrode. Aunts Adeline

Woolliscroft of Bagley, Dorothy Bellefy, Bonnie Bellefy, Jane Bellefy all of Bagley, Betty

Bellefy of Braham; Viola Steele and Cindy Bauer of Bemidji; Uncle Joe Bellefy of

Bagley, and numerous cousins.

 

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents,

numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

Honorary Pallbearers are two of his special cousins who he considered to be his closest

friends, Roger Steele and Anthony “Skip” Donnell.

 

Celebration of Life to be held April 18th from 1-4 pm at the Turtle River Townhall, 9883 South

Arm Court NE, Bemidji, MN. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji,

MN at a later date. Please make memorials to Anita Robinson.
