RLCC 11th graders attend BSU Career Fair

The Red Lake County Central High School 11th grade students went to the Career Fair at Bemidji State University Wednesday, October 28. Many schools also sent their students for the fair. They started with an Orientation by giving the students general information about how the day would be.
Students then were separated each going to their assigned places based on careers they chose when registering for the Fair. In each section there was a presenter who was employed in that career who shared about their job. They explained what would be the duties for the job, the possible salary, the education requirements, how many hours they work, and basically everything about what they do.
Following the career presentations there was a career exposition where interactive booths were set up with demonstrations of tools and equipment. For example, at a computer design booth they were showing a 3D printer and students could also put on special glasses which allowed them to experience an alternative reality like they were inside a videogame. In another booth they were making their own ice cream.
The students thought the day was very beneficial and helped them understand more about the careers they were interested in. One student most enjoyed the hands-on interactive booths.
